As PrimeGov becomes part of Rock Solid Technologies to support our larger vision to bridge the gap between local government officials and residents, we are proud to introduce Tom Duncan as the new CRO. Tom brings in a wealth of experience in building and scaling sales organizations at Diligent, BoardDocs, Granicus, to name a few.
I am beyond excited to be part of the Rock Solid Team! I spent the last six months enjoying time with my family: teaching my kids how to ski and snowboard, coaching 3rd and 5th-grade girls’ basketball, T-ball, completing projects around the house (winning valuable points with my wife😊), and, most importantly, just spending time with each of my family members. During that time, I reflected on where I was in my career and the next steps in my journey. As I met with other great leaders and organizations about potential career opportunities, I kept coming back to Rock Solid.
It wasn’t easy to pass up an opportunity to work with Tom Spengler, one of the most innovative visionaries in local government, and Sherif Agib, one of the most thoughtful operations and customer executives in this space. And upon meeting the rest of the Rock Solid Team, I can say that the aptitude here is endless. It’s truly an amazing and talented team of passionate professionals who deeply care about local government. It reminded me of the early days at Granicus, where I was fortunate to be part of a ground-floor startup. Rock Solid is no longer a startup, but the culture is reminiscent of those early days.
That passion and care at Rock Solid translate into better products, faster innovation, and unyielding customer support. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to be part of this tremendous GovTech company.
When I think about sales leadership, I always come back to the words “are you willing to serve?” Sales leadership is about the willingness to be selfless; it’s no longer about you but what you can do for the people on your team, putting them first. It’s about being a part of a team, not being the team. Those reasons are why I am a coach.
Whether at the youth sports level or in business, the same principles apply. People can feel it if you are genuine, and based on their perception, they will either give you all their effort and potential or they won’t. I am fortunate to have the most experienced sales team in the industry at Rock Solid. They have that rare emotional intelligence that helps them better understand their customers’ needs to help solve their challenges. This team cares about their customers, and it shows the level of time and effort they give.
It’s no secret: one of my goals is to help scale Rock Solid grow the business. That doesn’t mean only bookings; it’s about how we get there, which will determine if we achieve success. Scaling an organization requires three meeting main objectives:
It’s an honor to be part of Rock Solid. It says a lot about the solutions we offer, our customers, and the people here at Rock Solid! I feel invigorated in only a short few weeks with the company.
